On November 23-24, 2020 Youth Business Russia and the Mentoring Institute held the VIII International Days of Mentoring in Entrepreneurship. The event was supported by Youth Business International (YBI), the Department for Investment Policy and Entrepreneurship Development of the Ministry of Economic Development, Impact Hub Moscow, and IBLF Russia.
Plotkina was presented with the award by Pip Jamieson, Founder and CEO of The Dots, for her outstanding work in establishing, running and expanding Geek Teachers, a business offering online courses and in-person festivals to help teachers use technology to enhance the student experience.
On the 19th of August, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, together with ‘Sinergia’ Corporation delivered a webinar “My Business”, dedicated to mentoring agenda and the role of mentoring in business start and growth.

May 22-26, the second stage of mentoring programme in Almaty
On May 22-26, the second stage of mentoring programme was launched in the frame of the Youth Business Kazakhstan programme (YBK), implemented by MOST business incubator. In March 2017, the members of Youth Business International (YBI) have elected Boris Tkachenko as a member of the YBI Strategy Implementation Steering Committee. On the first meeting of the Steering Committee held in April, the Committee members have elected Boris as the first Chairman of the Committee. We believe that in this role, and being the YBI Mentoring Peer Wisdom Group member (on a pro-bono basis) Boris will work even more effectively on promotion of youth business and mentoring not just in Russia but worldwide.

Mentoring project launched in Surgut on January 23-27
On January 23-27, the Yugra Fund for Entrepreneurship Support and the Institute of Mentoring formed the pilot mentor/mentee matches in Surgut. Four seminars and trainings for 20 mentors and 20 mentees were delivered, 17 matches were formed and 16 matches had their first meetings.

On December 15, Boris Tkachenko held a seminar for a new group of budding entrepreneurs, and together with the experts from Kirov Small and Medium Business Fund, appointed mentors who joined the programme last December and have already finished their previous assignments. Next day Boris arranged first matches meetings.

Launch of mentoring in Ryazan, December 12-13
Boris Tkachenko and Ekaterina Geraskina launched the second stage of mentoring in Ryazan. On December 12, they have delivered seminars for new mentors and mentees and completed matching. On December 13, the meetings of new matches took place, and newly-joined mentors and mentees took part in the regular Mentoring Club meeting hosted by one of mentees Julia Korichnevaya at Montessori preschool.
It is now fourth year in a row that IBLF Russia acted as co-organiser of the Moscow Government International Conference “Government and Business against Corruption in Public Procurement and Tenders”.
Now into its fourth year the conference on best world practices in public procurement was hold at the Moscow Municipal Management University (MGUU).

International mentoring sessions in Toronto
In May 5 – June 3, Boris Tkachenko attended an international event on mentoring in Toronto. Evgeny Kulik, entrepreneur from Rostov-on-Don and YBR participant as mentor, on winning in Industrial Production category at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2015. The final of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards took place on the 26th of November in Moscow.
Evgeny’s mentee, a young entrepreneur Maxim Oleynikov was announced the winner in Innovation Business category at the Russian National Young Entrepreneur 2015.

April, 9, 2015. IBLF Russia, PwC and the IDA jointly hosted the 7th Russian Boards Forum, titled “Never let a good crisis go to waste”.
8 April 2015, IBLF Russia conducted round table “Early Identification of Compliance Risks at Representative and Branch Offices: Development of Remote Compliance Management”.
The conference participants drew up the guidance for the 7th Session of the UN Convention Against Corruption to be held in Moscow in November, 2015. Over 200 participants attended at the conference and foreign experts among them. IBLF assisted the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the conference concept and programme development.
On March 19, the governor of Voronezh Region Alexey Gordeev met with the members of Youth Business Russia programme Igor Zaboev and Petr Boikov, finalists of YBI Entrepreneur of the Year international award and co-founders of Karton Chernozemye company in Voronezh Region, their mentor Yuri Segal, YBR programme manager Boris Tkachenko and Irina Gorelova, YBR coordinator in Voronezh Region.

During the free YBR workshop which took place in Moscow on July 6, 2012, the consulting company Expert Systems professionals told the participants what kind of knowledge is necessary in the field of marketing, business planning, how to pinpoint their target audience.
Now the programme participants are expected to prepare their business plans. They will be advised by the Youth Board at the Department for Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of the City of Moscow.

CEO of Carton Chernozemie Igor Zaboev is the winner of the international YBI award
Igor Zaboev has set up and is successfully running, together with his co-owner Petr Boikov, the company engaged in collecting, sorting and recycling polymer, cardboard and glass waste.
The international YBI award committee comprised of members of major consulting, investment and banking companies was impressed by his determination and drive, in spite of scarcity of similar businesses in Russia.
The results achieved by Igor Zaboev merited the award in the exclusive nomination Environmental Entrepreneur of the Year.

From 14th to 16th March, IBLF organised the visit to Moscow of Richard Alderman, Director of the UK’s Serious Fraud Office. The purpose of the visit was for him to introduce the Moscow business community to the UK Bribery Act and to familiarise himself with efforts being taken by the government and the business community in Russia to combat corruption.

On 8th December The Prince of Wales, along with his son Prince William, helped to close deals for the global interdealer broker ICAP, as part of the ICAP Charity Day.
