Mentoring project launched in Surgut on January 23-27

On January 23-27, the Yugra Fund for Entrepreneurship Support and the Institute of Mentoring formed the pilot mentor/mentee matches in Surgut. Four seminars and trainings for 20 mentors and 20 mentees were delivered, 17 matches were formed and 16 matches had their first meetings.

The project was launched by Boris Tkachenko, CEO of IBLF Russia and Institute of Mentoring, Youth Business Russia project manager, and Irina Gorelova, Youth Business Russia project coordinator in Voronezh and an expert at the Institute of Mentoring.

Six mentees work in NGOs and in social business. The highlight of the event were the meetings between mentors and mentees, discussion and planning of cooperation.

The Mentors Club uniting the project participants in Surgut was set up as the platform for networking, exchange of experience and discussion of various challenges. A mentee can ask any other mentor for support and advice at a Club meeting. Besides, to enhance entrepreneurial skills, the Yugra Fund for Entrepreneurship Support intends to hold regular educational events: seminars, trainings, meetings, round tables. The young entrepreneurs can select the subjects of the events depending on demand for any information.

Another innovation introduced on the project is The Mentors Council formed by project coordinators, Yugra Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, Boris Tkachenko and Irina Gorelova. The Council is designed to provide methodological, consultancy and educational support for mentors.
