Russian Forum of Youth Entrepreneurship Leaders “Svoye Delo 2.0” /Own Business/ in Rostov-on-Don
November 22, 2012, Rostov-on-Don hosted the First Russian Forum of Youth Entrepreneurship Leaders. The huge event focused the attention of the wide public on the issues of youth entrepreneurship and involvement of young people in business.
The forum formulated proposals on synchronization of the existing federal and regional programmes of youth entrepreneurship support and development in Russia., including the programmes aimed at involvement of young people in entrepreneurial activities. At the Russian Forum of Youth Entrepreneurship Leaders “Svoye Delo 2.0” the participants of various programmes shared their experience, engaged in dialogues with public authorities and young entrepreneurs, familiarized with Russian and foreign practices of developing business and business projects. Other issues discussed included the problems of start-up financing, implementation of innovations and generating entrepreneurial expertise in the youth community.
According to Director of Investment and Entrepreneurship Department of the Rostov Region Svetlana Abdulazizova, “one of the major tasks of the forum was discussion of the problems of youth entrepreneurship support and development in Russia, sharing experience among regions. Of special importance for us is the fact that the venue of the forum is Rostov-on-Don.”
Youth Business Russia Programme Manager Boris Tkachenko stressed: “The forum was arranged with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Youth Business International (YBI), which, indoubtedly, helped get together experts and participants of various youth entrepreneurship programmes implemented in the Russian regions, in the countries of Europe, CIS and far abroad.”
The forum involved a lot of different events organized by Youth Business Russia, “You Are An Entrepreneur” project, the finals of the 2nd Regional Contest “Don Youth in Free Entrepreneurship”, an extended meeting of the YBR Expert Commitee for the Rostov Region which approved and recommended for implementation two business plans of young entrepreneurs from the Rostov Region.
The far reaching response evoked by the Forum gives reasons to expect that the YBR programme implemented in a number of Russian regions is going to expand across the country.
