YBR events at the Global Entrepreneurship Week

Youth Business Russia is participating in the large-scale international project and making its contribution in this broad initiative uniting 10 million proactive young people striving to implement and develop their entrepreneurial ideas. As a partner of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, YBR organized a number of events in various locations across the country.

At this one-day open conference, students willing to set up their own business had the opportunity to put questions about the start-up processes to young entrepreneurs running their businesses as well as to get advice of the YBR mentors, well-established experienced businessmen.

That same day, the far away city of Nakhodka in Primorye region saw the opening of the conference on youth entrepreneurship sponsored by the Youth Business Russia programme. Upon expansion of the programme over the whole Primorsky Krai this Februrary, Nakhodka has become the third location after Vladivostok and Ussuriisk where interested young people can obtain information from the YBR representatives on the advantages of starting their own business.

As a GEW partner, YBR is taking part in the XI National Microfinance Conference in Kazan and AIESEC YouLead Conference in St. Petersburg, and is congratulating the winners of the Leaders of Corporate Charity contest in its own nomination.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week has been held in the UK since 2006, in the US since 2007, and since 2008 the event has acquired a global sweep, becoming simultaneously an annual event in Russia. The initiative has been enjoying serious attention on the part of the Russian state authoritites. As of 2012, Head of the Branch Office IBFL in Russia, YBR Programme Manager Boris Tkachenko is one of the 6 members of the GEW Expert  Board in Russia. The  Expert Board was welcomed by GEW President Mark Marik who chaired its kick-off meeting on September 26, 2012.
