We invite international institutions, representatives of financial cooperatives, members of the banking community, private and non-profit microfinance institutions, branchless banking operators, government, and all stakeholders concerned about access to financial services to attend the Conference.
This year, organizers of the conference Microfinance in Russia on the Threshold of Change: Lessons from the Crisis and New Opportunities propose to discuss the impact of the crisis on the microfinance markets in Russia and in the world and review the innovative approaches to inclusive finance in the post-crisis environment. The conference will focus in particular on the new opportunities opened up by the recently adopted legislation on microfinance institutions, and on prospects for further development of policy framework for inclusive finance, including provisions for banking agents and electronic money. Particular attention will be given to practical lessons emerging from the anti-crisis response of banks lending to small businesses and microfinance institutions. There will be a review of the first results of state support for microfinance and measures to boost employment by encouraging business start-ups by the unemployed.
